Covid Conscious
Our goal is to provide a Covid conscious, mask free, separated space in which in-person tutoring can safely occur. While we neither make nor even imply any guarantee about the effectiveness of our precautions, we invite you to evaluate our efforts for yourself to determine if we might most effectively serve your needs at this challenging time.
Separated Space
All of our tutoring has occurred outdoors since April. We are currently erecting a dedicated outdoor space – a gazebo carefully designed for this exact purpose – with two halves separated by a clear divider. (As temperatures begin to drop, there will be a space heater in each half.) This way we meet in person, without masks; both the tutor and the student have separate touch screens so that they can “write” on the same “paper” simultaneously. Being at the same location also allows for the use of math manipulatives in teaching.
Additional Precautions
In addition to daily cleaning, Clorox wipes and spray are provided so that surfaces may be wiped down to your own satisfaction both before and after tutoring. Tutoring appointments will be moved online for any of the following circumstances:
- If someone in your household has a recent known or suspected exposure to COVID-19
- If you have a fever of over 99.6
- If you have any of the known symptoms of the coronavirus, including fever, sore throat, cough, trouble breathing, muscle aches or pains, or loss of taste or smell in the last week
- Or, if anyone in our own household meets these above criteria
